Message I just wanted to throw up the dyno comparisons with quick commentary ..I'll add more later including a better / revised mod list as I am sure I am forgetting something

My goal today was not peak power --but more midrange and to retune the top load range as I was off the load scale with recent changes I have made.

take note the temperature settings ( much warmer today ) and the area under the curve with each modification. This is "seat of the pants feel / butt dyno" that we all talk about.

Notice the effect of the correction factor differences in power. Coupled w/timing + a/f changes, the fact that each dyno reads differently allows one to really game the number.

I was able to dig up multiple setups with similar boost settings. Had issues with by boost controller spiking in the past ( had to adjust offset )

** pump boost about 1.4 bar ( spike ) / race boost around 1.8 bar ( 2.2 on Sport 600 )

Sport 600 basic setup in 2004 :
Stillen 2.5 inch exhaust
4 bolt 3 inch downpipe
water injection
built motor w/400 cams + head work
850cc injector
single fuel pump
inconel manifolds
Stillen intercoolers

General Notes:
1)big gains with water injection and timing **
2)turbos were pushed past efficiency + wastegate vacuum line blew ---bye bye turbo -- learned the importance of zip ties
3) found detonation limit
4) needed to lower gap and use twin power amp to prevent spark blow out

Stillen GT28RS basic setup in 2006 :
SZ 2.5 inch cat back exhaust
random tech 3 inch down pipe
SZ 2.5 inch super splits / dual fuel pump setup
.64 a/r trim

General Notes:
1)big gains with water injection and timing
2)didn't list on charts if water was on or off
3)found detonation limit

Ash Spec GT28RS basic setup in 2006 :
AshSpec Massives
AshSpec 2.5 inch intercooler piping

General Notes:
1)so so gains with water injection
2)didn't push pump fuel tune hard .. pushed timing on race gas hard to redline
3)car was leaner on base run before retune an add some fuel - from memory
4)couldn't get the car to detonate

ZTuner GT28RS basic setup in 2011 :
Abeler manifolds
Abeler open 3 inch down pipe
SZ full 3 inch system
60MM throttle bodies
MS turbo inlet pipes
Fisher Pulley
Selin Kit
JWT 500 cams

General Notes:
1) didn't see much gains with water injection of increased / decreased timing ... poss need larger nozzles
2) couldn't make the car detonate
3) with these upgrades, went past load range and car ran lean at WOT - needed retune

Special Thanks to Ztuner for touching up my Z to my specs. I wanted to be a little safer up top and have more midrange. I am confident based on the previous a/f + timing settings on my race progams that if he stayed into the high RPM range harder + if it was a cooler day - I could have gotten more power.

additionally, it appears my wastegates are tired and weak because my boost controller was capped out at around 25psi

As I wasn't too concerned with peak power, I spent a majority of my dyno time tuning the midrange. Basically, I got similar power output, with more mods, on a hotter day, with a tune with more buffer.

I'll post pics tomorrow afternoon of the event ..
